The Status Conference Research Vessels is an integral part of the process for ship time allocation. The status conference regularly takes place every two years, organized by a host marine research institution, with the support of GPF office and PtJ on behalf of BMBF.

Conference Transcript of the Status Conference Research Vessels 2024

About two years after the conclusion of their cruise, Chief Scientists receive a request from the GPF head office to present key scientific findings of the cruise. The scientific contributions to the conference are summarized in a conference transcript. The GPF decides on the basis of the submitted scientific contributions and during the Status Conference, whether a cruise is considered formally completed.

Agenda

On March 05, and March 06, 2024 the Status Conference takes place in up to three parallel sessions. The subdivision into three parallel sessions enables the conference participants to conduct well-founded professional discussions among experts. Sessions are divided into the following fields: Marine Chemistry, Marine Biology, Marine Geology, Oceanography, Marine Technology, Marine Geophysics, Marine Geochemistry as well as Marine Biogeochemistry. GPF Panel members and experts in the field will take over the moderation of the individual sessions.
